Begin Writing Your Story (I.E. “My Story Marketing“)
Once we have the lines of communication open between one another and after purchasing your domain name it’s time to begin developing your brand online.
[NOTE: At minimum you should have already purchased "yourname.info". However, if you have a common name and your name is still available I would suggest you buy these extensions as well: .COM .NET .ORG .BIZ & .TV
.INFO extension only costs you $1.17 for a full 12 months of use over on GoDaddy!!]
The very first step I was taught in branding myself online was to write “MY STORY”. The creator of the internet marketing mentorship I enrolled in back in April 2007 coined this form of marketing and advertising: “MY STORY MARKETING“.
“Why do I start with writing your my story” you ask? Because we want our potential prospects the opportunity to get to know us first & foremost!
Think about it for a moment … Would you do business with someone you know BEFORE you do business with someone you know hardly anything about? Of course you would and everyone does this all the time whether they realize it or not! So why on earth would you want to conceal who you are?
Wouldn’t you feel you have a better chance of doing business with another person or company if they had the chance to get to know you? Well then…why on earth would you not want to share who you are as a person ratrher than trying to shove your business opportunity, product or service down their throat?
By now you should have registered & have received my “Online Marketing Basic Tool Kit“. If you have you would already have also received the incredibly well proven, world reknowned ”6 Step Fool Proof PIP Formula“.
If you have not registered and therefore NOT received these 2 documents yet, do so now by completing the form to the right “FREE INTERNET MARKETING TRAINING”….otherwise we don’t have anything to talk about because EVERYTHING I will share with you is based on this information and Mike Dillard’s ATTARCTION MARKETING CONCEPT (See Step 4). These two items are what I refer to as THE BASICS of BASICS – just like Stew Leonard’s 2 Basic Rules of Business I share below!
You can read on and go through the rest of what I have to offer but I will tell you one thing…you are going NO WHERE FAST! If you want to cut your learning curve to as little as possible take my advice. I’ve been there – DONE THAT!
I have a relative who own a service business and this is exactly what I told him he needed to do. I know he looked at me like I had 3 heads and he even voiced his opinion how he wasn’t going to do it because he didn’t feel people cared about who he was. He believes what his customer wants is “THE BEST PRICE” for the product he provided. As a matter of fact his mantra is “THE BEST PRICE ___ COMPANY”. Well needless to say – that’s where our conversation ended.
If you don’t take my advice and do what I suggest then anything else I have to share will be helpful but won’t be anywhere near as effective as it could be if you heed my advice and BRAND YOURSELF FIRST – and THEN sell your product/service!
PEOPLE DO BUSINESS WITH PEOPLE – NOT PRODUCTS!
Sure some products sell themselves however if someone buys a product from a person they do not know and they have an issue with the product or service - what happenes? They speak ill of the company and ask for a refund. They will typically not have a nice word to say about the product or the company to anyone they come in contact with after that experience. Hence negative publicity travels fast! Naturally you do not want that for yourself or your business.
Now on the other hand, if the (new) customer had the opportunity to get to know the owner or representative of a product or service chances are the customer will give the company the benefit of the doubt and at least ASK TO BE SATISFIED. At that point we all need to heed the infamous Stew Leonard Sr.’s 2 Basic Rules of Business .
Click on Stew Leonard’s Basic Rules of Business link and read the “EggNog Story” when Mr. Leonard first opened his Dairy Farm Store back in 1969 which in a relatively short time frame later he was published in “Ripley’s Believe or Not“ .
Let’s get you started and read through the “6 Step Fool Proof PIP Formula” so you understand how it fits in to the big picture of marketing and branding yourself online. Then we can move on to STEP 4 – ATTRACTION MARKETING.
===========================================================
(NOTE: The 6th Step of the Fool Proof PIP Formula is your “Call to Action” (C2A). Your C2A will bring your propsective client (ie “Student”) into your PBF (Personal Branding Funnel) where you will have the opportunity to begin developing your relationship with your prospective client, associate, partner, etc. which we will discuss in STEP 6 – Auto Responders.)
