<p>We all knew this was coming 10 years ago. We all knew the yellow pages, newspapers, direct mail, magazines would become secondary to the exposure an entity has online where all their marketing would direct their prospects.</p>
<p>Everyone has a thirst for learning how to dominate the search engines for the keyword and phrases of choice. I am going to <strong>guide</strong>, <strong>coach</strong>, educate &amp; may even end up being your choice of <strong>mentor</strong> should you prefer to work with me directly more than anyone else you get to know.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t need to have a completed trainng site to start working with you because we all know a house is built starting with the foundation. Not the walls or the roof. But once we have our structure built we make it a home. With this in mind, I ask if you have even limited experience or a seasoned internet marketing guru to join me in adding your knowledge to my efforts. <p>After receiving a video email 4 years ago in March 2006, I knew the internet would change the way we all would live, work &amp; play! Then in August &amp; November of 2006 Google purchased You Tube &amp; Myspace was purchased by Rupert Murdock&#8217;s company and Web 2.0, 3.0 (&amp; now 4.0_ tecchnologies were omnipresent! </p>
<p>In May 2007 I was fortunate to be introduced to a 28 year old Californian &#8220;kid&#8221; whose goal was to touch and inspire 1,000,000 (1M) entrepreneurs. This guy (who is known in the inner circle as &#8220;DK&#8221;) went on in 10 months to generate $1.4M in revenues paying out 75% in commissions to those who promoted his internet marketing mentorship and did this solely by leveraging the power of Myspace &amp; You Tube!</p>

<p><em>FYI: There is a very nominal investment to get started marketing online however you also can get started without making any investment. Many of the tools I share with you are free. However, one tool you will want to invest in is your own host account which is a nominal monthly investment - $7.95/mo. You will need to purchase your own Domain name too. I suggest you begin with purchasing &#8220;yourname.com&#8221; which is a yearly investment of approx $10/year. (Note: GoDaddy offer &#8220;yourname.info extensions for as low as $.89/yr!) You will also come to realize your best friend and most valued asset is your auto responder which is a monthly investment of $19.95/mo.</em></p>
<p><em>Other than that everything else is available at no cost to you. Therefore for a minimum of approx $27.00/mo you can literally begin to brand, market and build your sales/marketing funnel to the point where you can literally begin monetizing your online efforts (ie MAKE MONEY!). I don&#8217;t care if you are an 8 year old kid &#8211; if you are in the position to invest $27/mo my &#8220;Free Training&#8221; shares how you can get started and begin making money online.</em></p>

<p>Here&#8217;s what I&#8217;d like you to think about:</p>
<p>When someone provides you with answers or information about something you want to know and they are an expert in the field and they keep providing you with invaluable information &#8211; won&#8217;t they stick around and want to keep listening to you?</p>
<p>What happens next? They begin to like you &#8211; don&#8217;t they? When someone gives you something aren&#8217;t you prone to want to give back? What would happen if they were providing so much value (ie information) you want and will provide you with more information at a fair price don&#8217;t you think you would buy from them and possibly refer others to them when you realized you wanted or need to buy what they offer? How much emphasis do you put on how much something costs at that point even if they are charging more than a competitor? All of a sudden price isn&#8217;t a major concern &#8211; is it? </p>
<p>So begin to think to yourself, &#8221;what does my audience want to know&#8221;? You have to put yourself in your prospect&#8217;s position and give them what they want. People are more willing to buy something when they have received value BEFORE they invest their money vs when they are being sold something they aren&#8217;t allowed to try first. </p>
<p>Therefore in order to encourage others to want to get to know you, why wouldn&#8217;t we provide them with what they want? It isn&#8217;t a secret they will appreciate us and want to get to know us more and the more they get to know us they will probably begin to trust us. Chances are they will stick around and tell others about the person they appreciate and want to share the information with them and who they learned it from.</p>
<p>Branding and marketing ourselves online in addition to learning how to dominate the search engines for the keywords and phrases of choice is critical in today&#8217;s business climate!! Further we get a much bigger &#8220;bang for our buck!&#8221; You will be the winner as you increase your value because you will be sought after by your target market. You will begin to realize you will be spending more of your time dealing with people who are coming to you ready to buy from you rather than spending most of your time prospecting looking for your next customer.</p>

So read through each Step and determine what you already know and where you will begin to pick up some golden nuggets of information and ideas you may not have considered before.]</em> </p>
<p>If you work for a company or small business what you have to understand is YOU are THE PRODUCT. Not the corporation, company or small business you work for! This is ALL ABOUT YOU &#8211; <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>NOT</strong></span> YOUR COMPANY!</p>
<p>Through my education modeling after the top internet marketers learning how to market online, it seems everyone likes to talk about the &#8220;secrets&#8221;. As far as I am concerned there aren&#8217;t any secrets &#8211; just information we may not have been privy to before, have uncovered or have come across.</p>
<p>Most people in business know the primary secret to doing business. It&#8217;s all based on their R-E-L-A-T-I-O-N-S-H-I-P-S with others. People are buying you! You are selling yourself before anyone buys a product or service from you!</p>
<p>Whether you already have a website or do not have one yet has nothing to do with what I am sharing with you here. You can have the greatest, most advanced website the world has ever seen but if the world doesn&#8217;t have the opportunity to get to know YOU then I believe you are missing out on the single most important ingredient in marketing.</p>
<p>I begin with what I KNOW are the BASICS of BASICS with the idea you can get up and running fast and begin to generate new prospects (ie leads) for your business by telling your story. My original internet marketing mentor coined this  type of marketing &#8220;My Story Marketing&#8221;. </p>
<p><em>[Note: Some of the messages I send you may refer to the MLM / Home Based Business market. If you are not interested in that industry just ignore the reference to it and apply what I am sharing to your business or job.]</em></p>
<p>I will show you how you can market what ever it is you are currently &#8220;SELLING&#8221; (or representing) and turn that paradigm around to where people are ATTRACTED TO YOU and automatically referring you &amp; your business to others in their &#8220;CIRCLE OF INFLUENCE&#8221;. The goal is to automate your sales process.</p>
<p>You will begin to experience a whole new way of living your life &amp; promoting/selling your business as your outlook and perspective will change from &#8220;ALL ABOUT YOU &amp; YOUR BUSINESS&#8221; &gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;to&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt; &#8220;ALL ABOUT OTHERS&#8221; and adding massive value to their lives!</p>
<p>How do we begin achieving this goal? It all starts with being able <strong>to build your own proprietary list </strong>which will enable you to develop your relationship with those you attract. I find it mind boggling how many people and companies marketing online miss this primary goal in their internet marketing plan. </p>
<p>Often I visit a website and find I have to dig to contact them. Then when I get to their &#8220;Contact Page&#8221; I rarely find their form is connected to an Auto Responder.  (Please don&#8217;t get overwhelmed if this vocabulary is confusing . All will be explained as we get more into this idea of building our list and relationships when we share information about Auto Responders in future Steps.)</p>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://skype.com/">Skype</a></span></strong>:</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Skype</span> is a free communication VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) platform which extremely functional which will enable us to communicate over the internet much easier than sending each other emails. I refer to e-mail as the new “Snail-Mail”. Skype did to email what email did to the United States Postal System (USPS). SKype allows us to go direct to each other’s desktop. If I send you a message when you are offline, Skype will store my message and deliver it to you the next time we are online at the same time. My suggestion is to leave skype open at all times.</p>
<p><em>[A word of caution: Under no circumstances do you open a file that is sent to you other than someone you know AND only open it when the person sends you a file when you are both online. Further, you want to insure you KNOW you are communicating with the person you think you are communicating with. If you are unsure, ask a pertinent current question that only you and your friend share.]</em></p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://facebook.com/johnpirojr">Facebook</a></span></strong> (FB)</p>
<p>I like to use FB these days because it is where everyone is hanging out socializing. You can text message me when you see me online or if I am offline you can send me a message through FB and FB will send an alert to the email account I have registered in its system alerting me to the fact you sent me a message. I will also be alerted on my Blackberry you are trying to communicate a message to me.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://crossloop.com/">Crossloop</a></span></strong></p>
<p>Crossloop is a D2D (Desktop to Desktop) conferencing tool which enables us to come on to each other’s desktop upon permission of one another. We will communicate over the telephone while we navigate on each others desktop. This facilitates the ability to demonstrate how to do whatever it is we are trying to verbally explain to one another rather than just verbally trying to explaining something. “A picture is worth a Thousand words!” Crossloop is my choice of D2D conferencing tools.</p>
<p>There are many others free D2D’s: Teamviewer, Yuugu, Yugma, Skype’s Mikogo, Vyew, ShowMyPC, Glance (cross platform- PC/Mac) and many more. I happen to choose Crossloop.</p>
<p>And there are Paid D2D’s as well: Go2Meeting, WebEX &amp; others.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Telephone</span></strong></p>
<p>A cell phone or a landline will be used if the conferencing tool we are using does not offer an audio feature. If you use your cell phone make sure you know your plan. I personally ran up a very large invoice on my cell phone bill because I thought I was on the unlimited plan. Even if I was on the unlimited plan, the international calls I was making to a Canadian telephone number was not included. Further I was unaware I was calling Canada!</p>

<p>In the upper right corner you will see grayed out “Start Domain Search”. Type in your name and then “.com” after it and the result will come up if it is available or not. You can expect to pay approx $10.69 w/ tax for a “.com” extension. (Note: You can start off with a very inexpensive extension “.info” for $1.17 w/ tax.) These prices are for a full year’s use of these domain names.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Redirecting Your New Domain</span></p>
<p>Once you purchase your new domain name you will redirect it to whatever page you create your PIP (Personal Identity Page) on. We will come back to this after we do this step of deciding where this will be. My suggestion to get started if you don’t want to be able to do this at no cost – I suggest using <a href="http://myspace.com/">http://myspace.com</a> . You can use Facebook but I don’t feel FB’s profile page offers the flexibility you may want to have. However, some people don’t like the stigma Myspace has. Personally, I could care less what anyone thinks. Myspace ranks well on Google (or at least it use to). This will be temporary anyway because we will be moving your PIP to what is now referred to as your “NERVE CENTER”. We use a Blog framework to create our Nerve Center in.</p>

<p>The very first step I was taught in branding myself online was to write &#8220;MY STORY&#8221;. The creator of the internet marketing mentorship I enrolled in back in April 2007 coined this form of marketing and advertising: &#8220;<strong>MY STORY MARKETING</strong>&#8220;.</p>
<p>&#8220;Why do I start with writing your my story&#8221; you ask? Because we want our potential prospects the opportunity to get to know us first &amp; foremost!</p>
<p>Think about it for a moment &#8230; Would you do business with someone you know BEFORE you do business with someone you know hardly anything about? Of course you would and everyone does this all the time whether they realize it or not! So why on earth would you want to conceal who you are?</p>
<p>Wouldn&#8217;t you feel you have a better chance of doing business with another person or company if they had the chance to get to know you? Well then&#8230;why on earth would you not want to share who you are as a person ratrher than trying to shove your business opportunity, product or service down their throat?</p>

<p>You can read on and go through the rest of what I have to offer but I will tell you one thing&#8230;you are going NO WHERE FAST! If you want to cut your learning curve to as little as possible take my advice. I&#8217;ve been there &#8211; DONE THAT!</p>
<p>I have a relative who own a service business and this is exactly what I told him he needed to do. I know he looked at me like I had 3 heads and he even voiced his opinion how he wasn&#8217;t going to do it because he didn&#8217;t feel people cared about who he was. He believes what his customer wants is &#8220;THE BEST PRICE&#8221; for the product he provided. As a matter of fact his mantra is &#8220;THE BEST PRICE ___ COMPANY&#8221;. Well needless to say &#8211; that&#8217;s where our conversation ended.</p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t take my advice and do what I suggest then anything else I have to share will be helpful but won&#8217;t be anywhere near as effective as it could be if you heed my advice and <strong>BRAND YOURSELF FIRST</strong> &#8211; and <strong>THEN</strong> sell your product/service!</p>
<p><strong><em>PEOPLE DO BUSINESS WITH PEOPLE &#8211; NOT PRODUCTS!</em></strong> </p>
<p>Sure some products sell themselves however if someone buys a product from a person they do not know and they have an issue with the product or service - what happenes? They speak ill of the company and ask for a refund. They will typically not have a nice word to say about the product or the company to anyone they come in contact with after that experience. Hence negative publicity travels fast! Naturally you do not want that for yourself or your business.</p>
<p>Now on the other hand, if the (new) customer had the opportunity to get to know the owner or representative of a product or service chances are the customer will give the company the benefit of the doubt and at least ASK TO BE SATISFIED. At that point we all need to heed the infamous <a title="Stew Leonard's 2 Basic Rules of Business" href="http://www.stewleonards.com/press/07Eggnogstory.cfm" target="_blank"><strong>Stew Leonard Sr.&#8217;s 2 Basic Rules of Business</strong></a> .</p>
